Museum wasp
This cheerful, lovely, yellow thing - faithful to its name, like a small wasp (vespa = wasp, Italian) - parked on the street. Playful, smiley forms, the pure sensation of life, a two-wheeled piece design and history. This shape is so emblematic that the Vespa of the 1940's is a permanent exhibit at the MoMA Museum of Modern Art in New York.
We're almost out
VESPA evokes a childhood memory: the desire for freedom that the scooter represents. The first car in our family was a little Polski Fiat, my mother didn't have a license yet, but we had already bought the car and brought it in front of our house. It was standing in the parking lot, but my law-abiding parents didn’t even start it. The whole family, Mom, Dad and Kids, were sitting in the parked car and we pretended to be on a trip. We stood at the gates of the long-awaited freedom - that is, we sat in the parking lot in the little Polski :) I even remember the license plate: DB.98.02.
